Not sure if this should go on Coaching Changes, Recruiting, SECr or here....

Not playing Saban and Bama on a yearly basis would seem to clear the path to a National Championship for LSU on a yearly basis...

But would this essentially derail our pipeline in Texas? With the revival of A&M and Saban setting up in the Lone Star state, would the Ed Paris's still make the trek across the state line?

so far it's been about even. But it's starting to be bad for LSU.

Well, Bama definitely improved after Saban got there. And Bama has gotten several good players out of Louisiana so I'd say since Saban arrived at Bama it's been mostly bad for LSU and good for Bama.

How does one not play Bama? Just because Saban leaves, we will still have to play Bama

If you mean Saban to Bama this is very good for LSU and the SEC West. Saban cheats his arse off at Bama and the Bama Admin. Look the other way. this will be great news.

I like Saban at Alabama and I think it is good for the SEC and LSU. Him recruiting in Texas could hurt LSU in that department, and him just being in the sec raises everyone's level. These last few years games against Alabama have been awesome

Saban to Bama would probably mean 3 or 4 NC's for them

It would be bad for LSU

Please dont let it be

No. Maybe the SEC, but absolutely not LSU.

I'd rather him take a couple of our recruits as the head coach of Texas than the head coach of Alabama.

Nah, I prefer 1 or 2 a year as him being coach of Bama than him grabbing 1 or 2 from state of La + having that inroads with all of the recruits we get from Texas.

Well it's not that easy. But even if we got into the playoffs, more than likely, we'd have to play him. Which is the reason I'd rather have him at Texas. Chances are, if he stays at Bama, we'd play him twice a year. Once during the season and then again in the playoff.

That's the main reason I'm in favor of him going to Texas. Sure he'd get a lot of Texas recruits, but Texas is huge. He can't get them all.

yes

edit: misread, thought you meant Ed Paris specifically

I must be from the future. I'd say pretty even, but there will be a serious mulligan in about 4 years that seems to "turn the tide" to his favor.

I dunno, we've always recruited Texas. Even when UT was great. I'd rather Saban hypothetically take 1-2 from La a year and maybe 2-3 from Texas that we'd normally get and have those players play for Texas than face them every year at Alabama.

Man, that's a long, long string of hypotheticals.

He won't be the next head coach at Bama because he told everybody he wouldn't
