and he plays with an exceptional amount of calmness and pocket awareness. I'm also very impressed with a few plays where he looks off the safeties before the throw. His throwing motion appears to be kind of awkward, but it makes for a quick release. I'm not nearly as shocked with the result of the Arky game now!

I can't wait to see how he does in a full game, and I feel more than ever that we are very blessed to have him suiting up at QB for the Tigers!

Check him out:

1:10 mark. Gets away from the pressure and just casually completes the pass like it's no big deal that defensive linemen are trying to crush him.

VERY disappointed in those clips.. Several time, he had a wide open linebacker 10' to 12' away and not once did he throw the ball to them.. JK of course!!! His film looked great. Obviously a throw first kid with the ability to move when the pocket breaks down. I'm not thinking a true threat in the read option, but I could be wrong..

He was so underrated coming out of high school. Coach Kragthorpe did a hell of job getting him here.

He's had elite NFL coaching from Cameron since March. He's going to be great in the Outback Bowl....hey Iowa fans...get over it!

One of the complaints I've read on this board regarding AJ is his tendency to stare down receivers. That clip seems to prove otherwise. He does have the ability to locate secondary receivers.

When you're running four wide outs on nearly every play it seems logical he would develop this talent.

I know its a highlight clip but he does seem to flourish in that spread offense.

This is what makes me excited about the Outback Bowl. Mr. Jennings will be awesome!

How could anyone make this assertion?

The only thing we have to go off was a 99-yard drive in which he looked off a safety before throwing to Duarl on the game-winning play, and threw to - what, 5? - different targets on the drive.

I'm not saying you're the one making this claim, just pointing out that it's ridiculous that anyone would say that.

The morning after the Arkansas game there were a number of posters on this site expressing their concern over AJ staring down Travin Dural on the TD pass.

I agree, since the play was design to sell Jarvis landry's route directly in front of Dural, that the accusation is ridiculous.

The clip OP provided shows he sees the field well.

My guess for the Outback Bowl the playbook for AJ will be made to let others shoulder the workload - at least initially - and let him build some confidence in running the offense.

It's a non-BCS Bowl game. We should win it, but the goal should be to not hang him up to dry by asking too much in his first start. We have weapons this year. If we get a big lead in the 2nd half, then open the playbook a bit and let him have some fun.

But let's not expose him too much to injury. I'd rather have him ready for Wisconsin.

An ideal gameplan would be AJ hand off to RB's all game long and pound them. They don't have the speed to stop it for the entirety.

I disagree. He can do anything, for he is all knowing and all seeing. For he is the Omnipotent "Swag of Jenn."

Just ask all his little virginal worshipping admirers on here. (None of whom have ever played a single second of any sport at any level)

What does this mean? Are you not excited about Jennings' future? He has all the physical tools and the brain to be a very, very good QB.

Not true that he was underrated. He competed in the Elite 11 QB competition, won the SE region against 85 QB's. He was noted for his accuracy and elusiveness. He went to the national Elite 11 QB competition in California and finished 3rd of the 11 QB's invited. He is a good one, may have as much impact on LSU as Jameis Winston has had on Fla St.

Don't forget he won out the backup QB position over Rivers who is in his third year. He has been impressive.

Can't wait until next year!

Don't mind him, he's just a crazed wacko. He does this little swag crap every time he talks about a black QB. Nobody comments on his post because he's a loon

His release spins the ball well, but his throwing mechanics are a bit slow and deliberate. That can work great for lofting the ball on the touch passes, but the quick corners love that extra .2-.4 seconds to make a jump on the ball. I'd like to see him get closer to Brady and further from Tebow in this area, so hopefully Cameron can shave off a tad so that it is all upside for AJ.
