So Rob Ryan walked out on the Rams......

ESPN reported he got a call from SP with a better offer after he began with the Rams, just walked into J. Fischer's office and threw the keys on his desk...

ESPN’s Adam Schefter provided an explanation on NFL Live Tuesday. Per Schefter, Ryan and the Rams indeed reached an agreement on January 24. Ryan began attending team meetings, but Rams officials “felt uncomfortable” about Ryan’s fondness for a 3-4 defense. The Rams have been a 4-3 team.
Per Schefter, conflict over whether St. Louis would change schemes led the sides to ultimately “cancel the marriage” with Ryan.
You often hear football coaches say there’s no big difference between 4-3 and 3-4 defensive systems.

Bottom line.
Jeff Fisher wouldn't let him do what defense he wanted. Sean Payton did. Rams asked him to leave quietly, blaming the process on differing opinions. Ryan goes to Saints and now has the inside track on the division, a 2 seed, and a top 5 D. Now, the Rams are singing a different tune.
Typical.

I have no idea what's the truth, but for a team to hire a defensive coordinator, especially a team that is coached by a defensive coordinator, to not know what kind of defense the man was going to run when he arrived....is just laughable.

Maybe Fisher wanted the figure head DC to run the Fisher defense and that didn't fly with Ryan.

Oh, Fisher knew what defense he was going to run...the defense that Fisher wanted. Fisher is an elite defensive mind. I don't find it unreasonable to have egos like that clash and just decide that it isn't going to work out.

What is the point in Jeff Fischer letting this out now?? I hope all of his coaches walk out on him right before the game. he sounds like a whinny bitch. no one forced him to go to that shithole in st Louis. he cant expect other coaches to want to go over there and like it.

Yes he did. Dropped the keyes on Fishers desk. New what was up. Funny thing is they had never announced him as a hire. Got a question for u guys. Need to scedul e my days off for work. Has scheduled changed beyond St Louis.?
