A&M will still land good classes. UT can only sign 25 kids in a state flush with talent.

Yea, just look at how Auburn fared in a much smaller state. We'll be fine.

I don't get why it's so hard for people to get this. It's simple mathematics.

I'm still slightly nervous about it to be honest. In 2007 about 1/3 of our roster was made up of Texas kids. And if he's poaching LA kids from Tuscaloosa he'll certainly do it from Austin.

At least for A&M there are positives to the Saban move and it could backfire. Texas still is in the BDF and A&M is in the SEC. That is a huge problem that hiring Saban won't fix. There is also no guarantee that Saban will walk in to Texas and just roll off undefeated seasons. The schools will both offer something great to recruits and something different. A&M also gains by not having to play Saban.

Bama OTOH is sitting on top of the mountain and Saban is the Messiah. There is absolutely no way of knowing what will happen with him leaving. There is also no guarantee that Bama will be able to go out and hire anyone either, there are going to be a LOT of coaches that aren't excited about becoming the next Bill Curry and whomever comes in will have to deal with being constantly compared to both Saban and Bear. With the margin for error already razor thin in the SEC West it should scare the hell out of Bama folks and if it doesn't they are nuts.

Very good point. They'd have to get an elite coach with a big ego.

Kids don't want to play in front of half-empty stadiums in Aimes Iowa. They want to play in the SEC. A&M is going to be fine.

yes....all the "he gone" and "its happening" gifs definitely show a level of fear from the LSU fanbase.

It seems like Saban at Texas would be horrible for both A&M and LSU recruiting. I mean, he'll still cherry pick players out of Louisiana, but he'd lock down the state of Texas for the Longhorns again. LSU has been getting studs out of Texas recently, can't imagine that continuing anywhere near it's current pace if Saban is in Austin. He'd obviously clearly swing the momentum in that state from A&M back to Texas overnight.

When you were in HS, did you want to play on the varsity team or stay on JV? While the sooners and longhorns will have decent talent levels and fan support, literally NO ONE ELSE in the entire conference is likely to have both of those things at any given moment. Which means you play in front of empty stadiums to teams full of players who took their only FBS scholly offer.
