It's not like it gives them an unfair advantage. I totally understand teams/coaches having a no drug policy but IMO it's dumb for the NFL as a whole.

It's illegal. Maybe that could be part of the problem.

because it's still illegal on a federal level. a massive American business is not going to slap daddy in the face over an issue like condoning federally illegal drug use. it doesn't matter if certain states legalize it. it's just incredibly bad business practice, especially when you're as big a company as the NFL and get government help via taxes.

Neither does shop lifting, stealing, or rape.....but the NFL has a history of not condoning breaking the law. I know it must sound crazy to you.

Good point. Probably has some sort of insurance incentive to test for it though I would think.

if someone has to explain something being illegal to you then you are not old enough to comprehend your own OP..Kind of like DUI or assaulting your wife...

He's not asking why it's illegal, because everyone with half a brain knows it shouldn't be. He's asking why they care about it since it's pretty much the opposite of a performance enhancing drug.

They would put themselves in rare air by being one of the few, if any, multi-billion dollar businesses to not perform regular drug testing on their employees.

May be liability if someone was high and got hurt due to decreased ability to protect themselves.
