Although a part of me would be nothing less than ecstatic if Saban were to leave and get out of our hair, now that this is possibly coming to fruition I am starting to have mixed feelings. I know that Alabama would no doubt hire another top flight coach if Saban were to leave for Texas, but I would be lying if I said that I would look forward to playing against Alabama as much as I do now. As disappointing as it can be in some years, nothing beats the exhilaration/excitement of seeing the Tigers suit up against an Alabama team led by Little Nicky.

Totally agree. I must say though, I'm tired of him taking our top recruits year in and year out as well as losing to that jump.

I think if he went to Texas he would pull about the same amount of talent out of Louisiana as he does now. The only good news for us is that with Saban at Texas, A&Ms recruiting and upsurge will be crippled.

He'll still do that, they'll just be going to Texas instead of Bama. Looks like Gus may be new ruler of the West.

Like muschamp was going to be the new ruler of the east? Or sumlin? It was a crazy lucky year for auburn, fun to watch but will not be the norm

IMO, "may" is the operative word. In the long run, I think he'll be a fad there.

Saban leaving is so much worth seeing the Bama fans meltdown, proving Saban's relationship with Bama is nothing more than an employee employer relationship where he gets his paycheck. Bama fans think he should feel there is no other place to be than their beloved tide. After all, how could any one lucky enough to be their head coach even think about leaving? The Bear may have had emotional ties with the school but Saban doesn't give a rat's azz. He is all for Saban and only Saban. LSU fans can enjoy the reality meltdown of him leaving which has always been inevitable.

Personally, I'm over Saban. I would be thrilled to see him go. The LSU-Bama series will continue to be the biggest game of the year and that will never change.

During NS's tenure, LSU had 2 SECCG appearances with one of them being in his first rebuilding year.

The other came in a season in which we beat them in rather lucky fashion in which Bama dominated the game statistically.

No love lost here.

You also know Texas has a bunch more D-1 prospects than Alabama.

What makes you think he'd quit raiding Louisiana if he goes to Texas?
