Dell has interest in Derozan rumor from PR

A poster on PR says Dell is interested in an Aminu + Stiemsma + filler for Demar Derozan deal. LINK IIRC this poster previously popped up several weeks back claiming to have a source close to Demps that said if we lost the Memphis game Monty's seat would start getting hot. This poster doesn't have much of a track record as an insider, and he puts odds on it at just 30%, so take it with a huge grain of salt.

Can he play the 3? He's been a 2 his whole career in Toronto
If so I'm down. He's having by far his best season right and is starting to put it together to be a really legit player
22/4/3 43% fg 36% 3 pt 17.3 PER
Raptors seem to be going all in for the tank for Wiggins. I'd love an athletic scorer at the 3 (if he can play the 3)
Would also make a Gordon trade almost a necessity, if Derozan at the 2 is considered the plan for the future

Would Derozan really fit in though?? For his salary in the next year or two I can't say I'm crazy about this. Maybe they may think about trading one of our current guards??

Flapflapflapflap
Aminu's ceiling reminds me of a skinnier/weaker josh smith
Even if derozan is sometimes called a chucker, he fits a position of need and he WANTS to shoot and impose his will on offense, unlike most of our guys
Trade EG!

They'll have to move Gordon or Reke.
Can't have THAT much money invested in Guards.

If the trade above is true they're basically just giving him away. We're fricked salary-wise for a while anyway, might as well get a legit 20/4/3 24 year old while we're in "win-now mode"

Dude's 6'5.5" without shoes, should be listee at 6'7". He can get up above the rim, fits better than reke at SF at least. I like the guy better than both reke and gordon, so I don't really care what he plays, he's got a killer instinct as a wing, different from our other guards

Probably not much better than Tyreke, so I'm not sure how well he fits even if Dell has a Gordon dump lined up. But, this is exactly the type of move you have to make to turn your trash into treasure. Players that aren't grossly overpaid but make too much money to be easily tradeable on teams looking to hit the reset button so they value expiring contracts more than talent that no longer fits their team time line.

I'd take Derozan for 9.5M in a heartbeat. Especially if we can move Aminu and Gordon.

How close do the salaries have to match?
Aminu/Stiemsma is about $6.5
DeRozan's at $9.5
How much more $ in contracts would they have to throw in to make it work?

The report said Aminu/Steimsma (6.5M) + filler (Rivers makes roughly 3M)
That would match Derozan's 9.5M

Deeozan is the same player as Evans. Stupid

None. Sending out less than $10m in salary, you can take back 150% of what you send out (~$6.7m between Aminu and Stiemsma * 1.5 = just over $10m we can take back.

This would be so, so dumb unless they are moving Gordon or Evans.
Another ball dominant guard.
Derozan is a nice player, but he doesnt play defense. People hate Montys offense- Derozan is dribble, dribble, dribble, mid range shot.
Aminu has plenty of flaws, but the team plays better defense with him on the floor and they need his rebounding.

I kind of feel that way, but if the Pels think that they can get a 50 cent player for a quarter and a dime, they'll do it and figure things out later.

Because what this team needs is more guards and to get smaller...
