If bowls are about making money, why did the Independence Bowl pass on UL?

The 6-6 Warhawks might be a game worse than Arizona or BC, but who's actually going to travel from Boston or Tucson to watch it? They should've gone with the safe bet and put the UL Warhawks in the game.

Let's pretend ULM traveled, would they need hotel rooms or would they just drive in for the game and drive home after?

Plus the atmosphere in a game between UL and either Zona or BC would feel like a big time high school rivalry game. Imagine the Parkview vs. Redemptorist 2007 series, LIVE on ESPN with Pam Ward on the call

More people will watch the game on TV, I'd imagine. The ad revenue is probably better for the bowl.

That one share ad revenue on TV that they will get will not exceed the revenue generated by the ULM fans that will go. The Independence Bowl hates Louisiana.

Why are we talking about something that happened in 2005? Sure, they could've picked the Cajuns but it's over with. Time to move on.

This. There are lots of TV's in Boston and Arizona. Only about 100 in the Monroe area, half of which are owned by the Duck Dynasty clan, people who work for them, or Mountain Man.

Yeah......because they're going to pass on a Heisman finalist and Rich Rod. Best matchup they could have hoped for IMO.

This is the best I bowl line up in a while. I hate that the Municipal Auditorium is closed for reno. I would love to give the teams or fans a tour.
