Looking forward to the game. While I was able to attend last year, I will unfortunately be unable to go tomorrow. Hopefully the Pistons get revenge from the pair of losses they received last year.

Care to give us a quick rundown of how the team looks this year? I know there were high aspirations for them, much like us, heading into the season.

I think we are starting to gel a bit. Without looking, I believe we are 4-1 over the last 5 games.

Positives -

-Brandon Jennings is (slowly) becoming a more complete point guard. Yes, he still takes ill-advised shots, but his assists totals are a career high, by far. Last I checked, he was 5th in the NBA in assists per game. He is constantly looking to feed the bigs, looking for lob opportunities for Drummond, etc.

-Stuckey has had a very good year coming off the bench as a 6th man (too bad he probably won't play). He is averaging about 16 ppg, and shooting just under 50% from the field. Yes, he is in a contract year.

-Drummond has taken a good leap this year, and has emerged as one of the best centers in the EC. Last I checked his stats, he was 1st in the NBA in FG%, 3rd in rebounds, and maybe 8th or 9th in steals. He still has limitations that he needs to work on, namely his FT shooting and his stamina toward the end of games.

Negatives -

-The Pistons badly need a 3 point specialist. KCP is having a decent rookie year, but his shot has been inconsistent so far. Charlie V is terrible. Pistons signed the supposed 'best shooter in Italy' (Datome). He has been bad, so far.]

-At this point, the Josh Smith experiment has not worked out. So far, he looks out of position, as he wanders along the perimeter. His shooting percentages this year are all career lows.

-Our 3 point defense is absolutely terrible. Look forward to Ryan Anderson having wide open looks, all game.

Does that mean you'll have to move Monroe so he can play PF?

I have no idea, and I'm not sure the Detroit media has a strong opinion on what is going to go on, one way or another, right now. I know that Greg Monroe and Joe Dumars have a good relationship, and it seems Monroe would be happy to stay. I also know that Joe D loves Josh Smith, and has done so for years.

I can maybe give a better answer regarding this in March or April. As of now, the Pistons are just working on incorporating Smith into the flow the best they can. They certainly have not given up on this frontcourt working, especially since the Pistons have been playing better lately. If Monroe is to be moved, it would have to be for an outside shooter. As I stated above, the Pistons are lacking in that category. I would guess we are among the bottom 5 teams in 3pt % and total makes.

LSUPiston, What's your take on Billups right now? It's been two years since he's had a relevant moment, and even then he was 2 years past his prime. Do Pistons fans really still believe he can play spot SG mins for them, once he gets healthy?

Billups, IMO, is basically a 'coach on the floor' at this point. The knee injuries have gotten the best of him. His jump shot is not what it was, and he was always a great defender (not anymore). KCP will likely be the starting 2 the rest of the season. Stuckey is much better off of the bench.

How has he played so far this year? I wasn't able to watch last night but his box score seems underwhelming. Maybe I'm just used to him at UGA shooting every time down the floor

He has played exactly like a rookie. Has a beautiful jump shot. And he plays good defense. But he's rough around the edges.
