Anybody aware of any travel agencies dedicated to World Cup travel? I've looked around online and have not seen too much. Id prefer something local, but would be willing to work with someone out of town. I have a group of about five guys that are committed to a Brazil trip. Any help is much appreciated.

Good luck getting transportation to Manaus and back. Only one flight from Manaus to Recife per day. If you havent booked it right now, the price of transportation alone is probably enough to lose any fun from going.

Ill wait until its in a country where the infrastructure isnt shite

I have seen that there are flights directly from Houston to Recife (Germany Match). I think that's where we'd like to go. I just want to locate a travel package that can include tickets to the game and the usual travel info.

American Outlaws sold out of their WC package a year and a half ago. Tickets will be a crapshoot and will be heavily inflated on the secondary market. Especially for the Germany match

I'm on their waiting list but its huge and I'm sure I'm screwed. The package looks exactly like I want though. Any ideas on similar places to look?

no clue...at this point you'll probably have to fend for yourself and book it on your own. Do it soon, Brazil isnt allowing any foreign airliners to use their airspace for domestic flights

Yeah but AO told their members (ie the ones signed up on that plane flight) that getting tickets at the game/outside should be easy.

This is just me but if I'm flying all the way to Brazil I'm going to have my tickets in hand. I have no idea what they look like and don't speak Portuguese. Risky to say the least

I've used:

LINK

before (was referred to them by a local travel agent).

They have a World Cup site up, but it doesn't look like there's a lot of information on it. I think that you'd have to contact them.

They were okay. They were able to arrange transportation, including a "guide" who spoke English, and booked a hotel room that was cheaper than the price listed online.

Plan A - Buy (or build) a time machine. Go back to this time in 2011 and reserve flight and hotel.

Plan B - Determine how much money you have to do this trip. Once you have that number, you need to double it within 30 days, because you're going to take it in the shorts on anything you book at this point. Do you know someone that can get a couple kilos of illicit drugs that you can repackage and sell?

Protip: You need to be in the planning stages of your World Cup trip as soon as host cities are announced.

Do you think it will be possible to get plane tickets to Rio? And if so, do you have any idea what kind of prices we're talking?

For the sake of this scenario, assume you don't have to worry about internal flights or hotels. Literally just a plane ticket to Rio and a plane ticket back.

I got mine back in August at $1800 round trip (leaving out of Natal but I'd assume it would be similar) and I'm sure they've only gone up since then.

I'd be shocked if it was less than $2000 round trip.

If it is, it probably won't be that way for long.

If I go, I'll be staying with a friend, and the games I would be going to are in Rio (I know it's not the USA, but I absolutely think experiencing the World Cup at Maracana would be worth it).

I expect to play a lot for the plane tickets, and I would be fine with that since I would be saving on hotels and the cost of internal flights. I'm just not sure how long I'll have before everything is booked.

Tickets in Rio are the toughest draw, the other venues shouldn't be too difficult.

Have you applied for the second draw of tickets?
