Can Pierre Jackson reach a ceiling similar to Isaiah Thomas from SAC?

Watching Thomas torch the mavs tonight...similar doubts and measurements to pjax...any chance Pierre develops into a player of similar caliber?

i think the undersized PG is going to make a reemergence for sure. lil guys like nate and IT are tough and can slice and dice through the trees all day

Depending on the lineup and defense behind him you can hide deficiencies...but being weak at things doesn't always kill you As a reserve...

If he's playing vs. other short PGs I love him. If he's playing against Russell Westbrook we fricked

Watch the highlights of Pierre. They play more defense in the NBA All Star game, I think. Most of those DLeaguers are terrible.
That said, I bet he gets a shot somewhere down the line this season. He seems to play with a lot of confidence.
They still need to figure out what to do with Rivers. And Roberts needs to be sent packing, he obviously isn't in future plans. Might as well let Rivers and Pierre get backup minutes and see what you have there.

He certainly looks like he has an NBA skill-set.
Very quick, good handles, smooth jumper with a quick-release, etc.
The question would obviously be, how would his defense fare against the physical guards the NBA has to offer...

IT's defense is pretty bad as well. I think Jackson has the capacity to be as talented a scorer as Thomas. It's going to take some time though. His carelessness with the ball is his downfall. I don't think he can protect the ball. Never shown it in college and the trend continues today.
I think his ceiling is a spark off the bench type of scorer.

I would be thrilled if pjax became a spark player off the bench as 4th or 5th guard...

Wow, his release is so quick. If he shoots a high percentage he'd definitely bring spacing at the very least.

IT has been among the best PnR players in the league since his rookie year. No one noticed because Sacramento.
Jackson won't be that good, but potential to be Pargo 2. Nothing wrong with that.

If we could turn a 2nd round pick throw in into a solid scorer off the bench guy then I'd be thrilled. I think Jackson could be something like a hot or cold kid that isn't your true backup really, but you give him about 3 minutes and see if his shot is falling. If it is you ride with him, if not then you bench him.

That's a recipe for disaster. 3 minutes to produce or you're back on the bench? Geez, so much for getting into the flow of the game.

Not exactly 3 minutes More like what Nate Robinson brings. He's not the true backup PG, Andre Miller really is. You just put Nate in and hope he gets hot and if he's ice cold he gets less minutes. Sorry for joking haha.

While I do like Jackson over Roberts, Roberts is the ultimate pro. He's a good locker room guy and when he finally gets his fricking stroke down this year will be very worth his roster spot. I like Jackson to win his spot in training camp next year, no need to rush it
