I was in mid 300s at Oak Mtn 2012 and it was fine. Sound was great, good view of lights, lots of room to boogie. I've sat near the back of the pav and in the pit at Alpharetta and both were great. I can't say enough good things about that venue.

I don't like pit that much cause I need to sit sometimes, i have trouble pacing myself when i am rocking out. Pav is perfect for me.

I actually like most of those songs. I know I'm a melvin cause I seem to like all of phish's gay little songs.

But whatever, I will hum along to Joy and Let Me Lie with a smile on my face.

Alaska and Backwards sometimes have some good jams come out of it so I don't hate on them quite as much as others. I'm still not gonna start high fiving when they play them though.

I have hugged multiple strangers for bustouts like Icculus, Light Up or Leave Me Alone, Forbins, etc..

that Vida Blue version on NYE @ Radio City with Mike/Trey on dueling guitars is the best ever.

I'd like to see them bust that out and bring out GPJr to hold down the low end. A man can dream, right?

its happened before. I think at Lakewood in 12 alaska and number line were two of the top five songs in the set. Not saying much but whatever.

ETA: and we probably hugged at Dick's when Icculus started. And then again for that Oh Sweet Nuthin encore.

Hell yes McGregor.

I hate hearing the crowd groan when those songs come on.

Oh and don't ever attempt to go to the bathroom during Alaska or Backwards. It'll take you 20 minutes.

what are some lesser known acts we should see at JF that are sort of under the radar?

I saw that Luke Winslow King's set last year and it was really great. His new album is good too (The Coming Tide).

I like to try and check out some new stuff at fest.

Keb Moe, I think he is playing, was awesome at Christmas Jam.

Raw Oyster Cult and Voice of the Wetlands All Stars are both great local (Louisiana) acts.

I wish, mon. It does look like a great time. I will get my fill of Anders at Jazz Fest opening for Phish, later that night at the Wolf with Rebirth, and a few weeks later at Wednesdays at the Square.
