Anyone dig their own water well? Watched a few youtube vidoes on this and think it is a great idea for the camp. We currently have no water, just brought in water and collected rain water.

we tried and never were successful. We ended up finding an old man from Carencro who was cheap. Trust me it is alot of work by yourself.

This is on my "really want to do" list when I get the time / opportunity.

yes, like that guy.

A simple well in my back yard can provide water for the yard, garden, or anything else I may need. Living at just abouve 10ft above sea level, I am sure I do not need to go down very far.

Know a guy that lives in a neighborhood that started doing it in his back yard and got shut down by the local govt. So he built a shed big enought to do a well inside and nobody would be able to see what he was doing

A lot of the local governments are getting into that game. It is the rule in St. Landry Parish, they don't want anyone on anything other than a municipal water system. I'm wondering when they are gonna do that here in Evangeline Parish.
