With all the fines players have no choice but to go after the knees. Do you think gronkowski would rather have a torn ACL and MCL or a headache?

I don't think you've had a concussion, have you?

Why does it have to be either or? Ignoring all the going low in the Player Safety Crusade is ridiculous.

Playing football tore his knee. It's football. It's a dangerous sport where injuries happen regularly.

People are ridiculous these days.

he would have gotten tackled like that regardless. He's a monster. You have to hit him low.

No, he did not. These injuries suck, but eliminating blows to the head is the smartest thing the NFL can do. They understand there is no way to eliminate injuries, but they are looking to minimize traumatic ones.

As much as I hate Goodell as well, you do realize that was only the second torn knee ligament due to contact this season right?

Plus guys that big you almost have to take them out by the legs, there's no way a DB is squaring up and taking hin down.

such bullshite

When shooting a gun, where do you aim and why?

tackling is no different. "we can't hit them in the head so we have to hit them in the legs" is a fricking lame argument. Learn how to tackle. Gronk is a big guy and there is alot of legal area on him to hit. TJ Ward hit him dirty and he knows it...watch his reaction after the play.

I think you're underestimating the long term effects of concussions.

Also, there is no reason why NFL players can't learn how to properly tackle. I sometimes think it would be better for player safety to REMOVE all padding/helmets, thereby forcing players to tackle properly for their own safety.

You can fix a knee with the money you make. You cannot fix your brain. I will take the blown knee.

People are idiotic these days. He would have gotten tackled like this 5-6 years ago. If you had to blame anything, I guess it would be gronks genes for making him such a freak of nature

No players ever suffered torn ACLs before the new rules?

Roger will fine the jersey and shoulder pads of that player. Some one will pay for taking out his best buddies, best receiver.

Rumors of the dirt and grass being suspended were quashed

Wait what??

There was 45 torn ACLs in the NFL in the first 8 weeks of the season alone. Which is more than the entire 2011 season and 2012 season. They beat those #s in the 1st 8 weeks of the season.

Im not gonna sit here and say Goodell tore Gronks knees... but the rules are def making players go low, and therefore there is a significant spike in ACL injuries.
