Real hard to get excited about Iowa

Nothing against them. They earned the bowl. But it's Iowa. I'd rather pay a name team having an off year. An 8-4 Iowa team just holds zero lustre. I mean crap, when I saw it was Iowa, I literally had to look them up to see how they did this year. I don't think I've heard their team mentioned once this entire season.

It's the only LSU football you'll get until next September, and that's a long time.

Is our miserable fan base ever happy about anything? The idiots on here were bitching yesterday that we MIGHT get selected by the Gator Bowl and some were getting pissed off at Alleva saying it will be his fault. Now we get selected by a bowl and we bitch about the opponent. Iowa is not a bad football team. This will be a great opportunity for Jennings to get some first team reps and get in a game situation (which everyone on here has been asking for) against a quality opponent.
So this just means that you don't follow college football very closely outside of LSU. That isn't a reason to not be excited about a bowl game.

Yeah it's not very sexy. Really wish Michigan would have had one more win than they did .. that would be a solid bowl right there. Still pumped about Tampa. Great town, great stadium.

No one is forcing you to watch
But fwiw, the future at QB for LSU will be starting and I'm sure many young players will get significant PT, so that alone should be enough to get excited about regardless of opponent. And the fact it's the last football game for 9 months

This will be the sneak preview to next year with AJ starting at qb. I don't care who LSU is playing, to be honest. It's good for AJ and the football program, and it's another LSU game to watch during the holidays.

It would be a SOLID bowl win which LSU fans cannot overlook anymore(lost the 3 of the last 4).
Not to mention, we get to see the future of LSU on a big stage with Jennings running the show. How can you not get excited to see that? It's like the Spring game, only it isn't a tease.

Who said anything about breaking down game film? I watched them dismantle Nebraska a few weeks ago and knew enough to know what their record was which the OP was saying he had to look up. I know enough to know that this is a quality defense that our true freshman QB that will be starting next year will go against. What is there to not be excited about?

Meh, Iowa is a better team than Michigan. The only thing that would have been better about that match up would be the Miles/Michigan story line.
