The Gator, Outback and Capital One bowl games, three SEC-aligned bowls played on New Year's Day, are all on tv at the same time. One starts at 11 am, and the other two start at noon (central time).

Why would the SEC align with 3 bowls that so severely limit the TV exposure of three of our ranked teams, by televising all 3 games essentially simultaneously on the same day?

It's ridiculous.

Your thoughts?

It's been that way for a while I believe. I'm a channel surfing mofo on New Years Day.

Yeah....look at the rest of the Jan 1 bowls on the schedule and keep complaining.

The only other bowl on January 1 is the "Heart of Dallas Bowl", and the Rose and Fiesta.
THERE ARE NO OTHER BOWLS ON JANUARY 1
The SEC pretty much locked up every January 1 bowl. No other conference has locked up so many Jan 1 bowls as the SEC.

You dumb fricks seriously complain about EVERYTHING without even knowing what the alternative is.

SEC needs to work on a bowl game played with the PAC-12 in Houston.

Too many tie-ins with the BIG

It's an easy answer. Those games are scheduled so they don't confict with the BCS bowls played on New Year's Day. Rose Bowl has the late afternoon timeslot followed by another BCS game at night (Fiesta this year).

The only way to avoid this is not to play those non-BCS bowl games on New Year's Day.

The Chicken Bowl is prime time and probably the only game on. But I bet you'd bitch about going to that game too.

This. You could even put a non-BCS bowl in Sun Devil Stadium. I'm sure a New Years Day bowl with a top SEC team and a top PAC 12 team would sell more tickets and get higher ratings than Baylor and UCF.

I'm excited that it's on Jan 1st, because I don't have to use vacation so early in the year. So, there's that.

I agree it's silly to show the game all at the same time.

If it doesn't involve Bama then the SEC doesn't care

It would seem like common sense for the SEC to arrange to stagger the starting times to promote their product and maximize conference viewership

'Cause they're meaningless bowls. Should call them "bowel" games.

The games can't conflict with the BCS games. So what time in the morning would you like to start a game? Cotton tried a 10 am start time that didn't go over very well years ago.
