Word on the street is the sponsor wants WKU but ULM is lobbying that they can put more butts in the seats.

I'm not optimistic.

WKU doesn't have good football fan support but ULM didn't exactly set the world on fire at the Indy Bowl last season. It wouldn't be earth-shattering if ULM was invited but I'd be surprised.

Again--TV ratings. Bobby Petrino is "sexy."

And still had an excellent turnout. Probably couldn't repeat that this year.

Yeah, it may be stupid but people will go "oh yeah, Petrino coaches that team" and tune in more than they would if it's the same team that lost by like 35 points the year before in a game with no real atmosphere.

Would you really say "excellent"?

I think a ton of tickets were sold. Just no one showed up. I was there, and it was pretty miserable. Mostly because we got stomped from the first whistle on.

There were 49,000 people at the New Orleans Bowl. The school sold out our allotment and got a second batch.
