I am stoked about AJ based on many things. I liked how he seems to have a good touch in his passes in the Arky game. The contrast to the darts on-a-line and quick release of Mett was striking.

What is the impression of his throwing mechanics?

Sure, it is a small sample size, and the results were certainly positive, and his running style and seeming leadership all look good.

But still wonder a bit about the arching throwing motion versus the quick motion.

His quick motion was accurate and he had plenty of arm on the bomb, so far so good to me.

His windup and release was actually suprisingly quick, especially on the last TD throw IMO. It did look a little lofty, but hell that's a small comment when you consider the pressure and circumstances he was in. Very promising.

That pass out of the end zone showed so much poise. I was most impressed with that throw. A pressure situation, and he moved to a great pocket position to make a great touch pass.

Stared down Dural the entire time on the TD pass. Not good

That was to sell the fake to Landry.

Come on man.

Am definitely excited from what little we've seen. If I recall correctly, one dropped ball on a route to the sideline was a bullet with plenty of pace that hit the receiver in the hands. The loft on the TD looked to be by design, as to the pass was thrown in the most "catchable" manner. The kid can flat out ball. Remember, he was the MVP of the Elite 11. This behavior is no accident.

So obviously you didn't see the head movement he made to bring the safety down to Landry did you? Blind to the fact that you witnessed a competent QB.

I wouldnt confuse staring down Dural on the TD. He had Landry running the under route on the same side who drew four defenders.

Regardless of his motion, he showed the heart of JaMarcus Russell.

I realize you're probably trolling. But the entire purpose of the play was to stare at Landry and cause the db over dural to come to help with Landry.
