I'm starting to panic a little. 6 first split hunts and only 2 birds. There just doesn't appear to be many birds down (in St Landry parish)

Now traditionally we're a 2nd split place. So if this keeps up through Christmas, I'm really gonna start to worry.

Anybody having the same problem?

Our fields in Jones have been average, for us, at best. Hoping to see new birds in the morning.

Started off real strong then went to crap. We'd have a decent hunt here and there, but not what I'm used to. We didn't get to hunt the weather like we do normally. But don't think we missed much, just not a lot of birds down here.

Yeah, I had somewhat high hopes for this front, and went yesterday, saw a lot of bird, none wanted to work though. Went today and it was a certifiable dead zone. I think I heard 2 shots while I was out there.

Definitely still a bunch of birds up north. Reports from northern Arkansas to Iowa say mallards are stacked in the delta. I did hear of an increase in birds in east central Arkansas today. Looking at the weather pattern for the next ten days I would guess that NELA will see some increased counts over the next few days. With another push Wednesday and Thursday of next week.

My friend has been deer hunting his boss's place above Natchez and said they don't have a ton of birds yet on the feed lot. It's cold up north, but there's no snow cover. I was at lunch yesterday and guys next to me shot 14 mallards that morning in some timber in Marksville. They said it was the best hunt so far this year.

But like Brass eluded to, you find them today and set up on them tomorrow, you don't see them. Once you jump them, they move out and don't return.

Not great.

Only three hunts. Only 14 birds.

We haven't had any good hunts there either. The wma just hasn't had any birds. I was wondering how people in private land have been doing

Its' been avarage so far. Few very good hunts and few not so good ones. Hunted from north to south but havent broken the state line to arkansas yet thats coming next week. Friends up there been smashing them. Have killed more mallards in south LA in the first split than usual so that was nice. All this rain should have good back water for second split east zone to when they show up

Probably my best hunt this year. I haven't hunted near as much as usual. I've had other things going on but after next week I should get cranked up and start putting forth my normal effort.

If it doesn't get any better down here, I'm coming to bump fiberglass with you. Actually have a place on river to hunt, just need the water to come up.

Seven hunts/limits. Mostly greys, few mallards here and there

I need the river to come up about three feet and my opportunities will increase dramatically. All the rain has some slash water but its damn hard to get to right now.

I found a deer hunting club that isn't using about 300 acres because its the first thing to flood. Willow trees. Cockle burs. Smartweed. Tupelo gums. Cypress. Bitter pecan. Cotton wood.
