Did USC hire Sarkisian partly because they thought Mora would take the UW job?

The thought had to have at least crossed Pat Haden's mind, no? Mora is 2-0 vs USC so far and has "taken" Los Angeles from the Trojans. As long as he's at UCLA times could be tough for the men of Troy.

Is it? I mean the Sark higher doesn't make a whole lot of sense...he's a decent coach but there's better options out there for sure.

Why doesn't it make sense to you? He's a former USC assistant with strong ties to California

No, when Mora made the comment about wanting the Washington job bad, he was unemployed. He has a great job now

No, he was the head coach of the Falcons at the time and it got him in big trouble.

Today made me complete forget about Mora anyways.

I used to think Haden was shrewd, but I think this Rhodes Scholar bitch just got played.

Haden wants to be loved...and played it safe. He's never had to make tough decisions - he only fired Kiffin once the entire fanbase turned.

Powerful SC boosters close to Haden love Sark - the heir apparent under Petey before Sark left for UW.

Sark is LA guy - with big recruiting ties - and they think he fits in better with USC (easy transition) and with the USC/cache name will do better than at UW...USC people although to be fair, he did turn around an 0-12 disaster - a program Ty Willingham basically buried.

Public thinks it's a bad hire - those close to USC think it's a homerun hire. Sark is young - will grow - Time will tell.

I do think that Sark could be successful there. It's playing with fire a bit with him though. He knows nothing about running a defense. He literally didn't touch it and left it all up to Wilcox. Sark's success will rely heavily on the quality of DC he hires.

Sark isn't even a good coach. Washington got a huge upgrade.
