Seriously, a lot of these kids can flat out fly. I'll be honest, I've seen some kids in person and some just on film and it makes a bit of difference. I'd say from what I've seen the candidates for fastest lsu prospect/commit in pads are:
Tony brown
Speedy noil
Ed Paris
Leonard fournette
Jamal Adams
I've only seen Adams on film, but his jumps out on film to be the fastest. Speedy and fournette in person is mind boggling. I'm sure there are a ton of opinions out there. I'd say there are other guys just behind this group.

Jamal Adams
I'm not forgetting about Quinn. He and fournette I was between for my top 5. Also, could make a good argument for adoree...he so damn quick. I've seen speedy, fournette, and Quinn in person....all blazers....I'd rank it speedy, fournette, Quinn as far as game speed. Close though. I've seen brown and Paris only once live.....I think it's a close call here. Adams is the only one I haven't seen live so I feel a bit wrong for putting him on here, but I think the speed on his film blows some of the others away. There are a few others I like too like palelei....not easy list to make.

Put pads on and try to run him down... I don't think anyone catches Fournette.
I've posted before that what blows me away about Fournette is that he appears to be doing nothing special and yet the results of his touches are almost always special.
Smooth, instinctual, natural player.

Well if LSU goes to the outback bowl , stay and extra day and go to the under armour AA game the next day . Then you can see for yourself who is what . I have no idea , they are all fast to me .

I think Quinn is faster in a straight line than Fournette, in pads or out, but that's just my opinion - I suspect he's faster than most of the guys on our list in the 100, except Tony Brown (yes, including Speedy), but acceleration may get a couple of them ahead of him in the 40.
As far as football speed, there is no question this is one of the fastest classes we've had in a while.

The ridiculous thing about Fournette (and we'll see if this translates to the next level) - is that you have the size and strength of a power back, but he also has the moves of a middling (or better) "scatback" - not only is he the best player in this class - he will be the best LSU recruit since Patrick Peterson (who, IMHO, was the best since Kevin Faulk.)

It does make sense - WRs (in addition to frame, reach, hand size, ability to catch, all that stuff), need a decent first step, the ability to cut, and, in most cases, straight line speed to generate space. RBs don't nearly as much raw speed, but they need upper body strength and flexibility, vision, and the ability to change direction and very sudden acceleration/deceleration. RBs also tend to be quite a bit heavier for their height. (Muscle is armor, yo.)
The fact that the lighter, taller WRs are faster in a straight line/over an open field should not be any more of a suprise than to learn that most RBs are faster over tires, and in traffic.

Given the following issues at S:
- Thompson's knee injury
- Eugene's unknown status
- Martin's injury and lack of presence
- Loston's departure
I would say that Adams has the chance to immediately make his presence felt on the field. Especially when you consider his talent level.

Could roll out a 5 db set with white, Robinson, mills at safety and 2 out of these 3: Paris, brown, Adams. That would be the fastest defensive backfield in the history if college football.

Tony brown based on his track background and going to college to competein track but speedy has a different gear on tape. Speedy seems to blow by everyone so effortlessly.

I believe Speedy put up a sub 4.4 at The Opening and maybe Tony has done similar.
The amazing thing here is that you would put LF in this group. He has 40 lbs on these guys...

TB or EddyP. If you're talking about quickness, I'd go Speedy. And if its about quickness, Boo has it in spades.

Quinn has a sub 4.4 40, as well.

He's white. Not athletic. Has a high motor, though.
