Possibly moving to Louisiana next year - how is the duck hunting?

Currently living in Charlotte so I have to travel pretty far for my ducks. Recent developments MAY cause me to move to your state (probably baton rouge). Had a couple friends go to LA on a hunting trip and brought back quite a few birds so it seemed like a decent state for ducks. Overall, are there plenty of good opportunities for someone willing to put the work/scouting time in (on public land)??

It is comical at best. A few good shoots once every blue moon.

Good on occasion but sucks for the most part!

Public land here sucks. As was siad today Pomme de Terre has birds, some a-hole from Arizona said he shot some scrap birds. Late second split you can kill if you can get a way from the Duck commandres and pack sack lunch but other than that stay home. O yea if you arent scared theres' plenty of hunting on private lands just gotta be a little triky and maybe got out of state if you aren't scared of that either.
Good luck cause it used to be good

Pretty much this. Did have some really good hunts on pomme de terre over the years when it had water and didn't have the a-hole sky blasters.

Thats' what he said. Fricker probly didnt no where he really was probly private ground next to it. Bewar of the bandits from Hamburg simmesport and marksville they will leave you for dead if you are in there hole or just cut all the tires on youre' bike like they did me

A few guys had some nice shoots openening weekend of Coastal Zone. Other than that everything has seemed to die down each weekend...

Would not waste your time

It can be great if you are unreasonably wealthy. Otherwise forget about it unless you can go on a few pay hunts per year. Probably your best bet.

It sucks. I will most likely never be able to consistently even have decent hunting.
