I hate Saban and Bama as much as most of my fellow purple and gold brethren. But, I love to hate him and relish the opportunity to beat him and I'm not sure I really want him to leave - despite all the glory of watching a gump meltdown unfold.

I thought I wanted Darth Visor to leave Florida when he did but quickly realized that it took a huge element away from that rivalry.

Anyone else feel this way?

I love the LSU-Bama rivlary right now. I want him to stay at Bama... but I would LOVE to see their meltdown.

So, either way, I win.

I appreciate how good the competition has been since he went to Bama.

But he's the best corch in Merica' and I would lurve it if we didn't have to play against him every year.

Besides the coaches he coached against at MSU b/c I don't know their head to head record against him, but Miles is what? 5-3 in the regular season against him? That is 2 more wins than any other coach can claim.

It's a great rivalry and guaranteed Bama circles that game every year b/c we are always the biggest threat.

I would rather him leave. Either way he's going to recruit Louisiana and cherry pick kids. We would lose out on more kids in the Texas area IMO, which would suck but I'd rather that than a team in our own division getting them. Alabama-LSU is a good rivalry but they are for the most part the only thing that stands in our way each year. More than likely they would still grab a descent coach, but they wouldn't be Nick Saban.

I am confused. In regular season play Saban has played Miles 7 times while at UA. Saban is 4-3 in regular season play 5-3 overall as head coach for UA. Unless they had a few games before he was at UA I am not sure what I missed.

We're 0-7 against Alabama with Saban there, and we haven't beaten them since my senior year at Arkansas (I'm now almost 30, married, and have a child).

Count me in for $100 to his UT salary pot.

I would take off from work that day to take it all in.

I would rather him to be Bob Stoops problem every year instead of our problem. Let him go!

Get him out of here. He is the reason LSU doesn't have two more national championships.

They dont think there is a rivalry, fwiw. I would love nothing more than to watch them crash and burn, personally.

You should really look up what cherry pick means. Saban does not cherry pick kids from La.

When one team wins by an average of 28+ points for a decade....well, that's just not a rivalry.
If anything, UF/LSU somewhat resembled a rivalry AFTER Spurrier left.

Eta: the above largely excludes real rivalries. AU/UA, UM/OSU, UT/A&M etc.
No matter how much one opponent dominates the other, it's still a rivalry (not the case with LSU/UF).

Truth. Old Ball Coach killed us every year, except 1, love me some Kevin Faulk.

We may have just witnessed the tipping point for all the good fortune he's gotten the past several years. Let him stay another 3 years and let's beat his arse until he retires.

Yeah I really miss Florida whipping our arse annually. Takes away from my enjoyment of the game.

I love that the 'Is Saban leaving? rumor mill is at an all time high, whether he leaves or not.

With every passing season, recruits are going to have to wonder if this is the year he leaves for another gig or will retire.

I'd be okay with your premise except that a significant number in Louisiana, including some who claim to be part of our fan base, still sniff Saban's jock. We just don't need him around

<== This Guy.

Bama vs LSU is one of if not the biggest rivalry in CF right now, despite what the folks in the Big 10 might think. Since Saban got to Bama, LSU/Bama has had national championship implications for one (or many times both) schools every year.
