I would be remiss if I didn't start this thread with a quote from a great poster and hope that you follow his instructions.

It is important that we start out with the source of animosity towards Nick Saban on this board.

December 2004 - Nick Saban leaves Louisana State for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League

3 years later...

January 2007 - Nick Saban, after repeated denials (henceforth known as Saban Deflection or SD for short), takes the University of Alabama job. (Note: LSU and Alabama are in the same division of the Southeastern Conference, though not technically rivals.)

After establishing himself as one of the top college football coaches in the history of the sport, Saban has been the center of many coaching rumors ranging from the Harlem Globetrotters (Source: BasketballBraniacs.com - no longer an established site RIP) to the famous Dallas Cowboys, and even rumors of returning to LSU after the Miles almost jetted to Michigan and then to Arkansas last year.

Some notable teams rumored to be Nick Saban's destination are as follows (forgive me if I missed a few, the list has grown large and out of control):

Penn State 2011 - LINK - A well-informed man by the name "loldaveyjones" (pronunciation unclear - lawl-day-vee-jones?) assures Penn State fans that Nick Saban will be the next head coach of their once heralded school.

He stayed.

Dallas Cowboys 2011/2012/2013 - The Dallas Cowboys have been promised Nick Saban as the head coach for the last few seasons now. The number of blue balls in the DFW area is now out of control. Perhaps this will be the year. Latest figure is $60m for 5 years to wear the Texas star (Source: LINK ). Will that be enough?

Cleveland Browns 2012 - Saban got offered partial ownership of an NFL franchise in this deal. Just astounding the kind of offers this man gets. Saban used to coach at the Browns and his buddy became the owner last year. The bags were all but packed and the Sabans were headed for Cleveland.

He stayed.

Instead of breaking down the Texas rumors and sources, which have surfaced for more than a year now, we will focus on SD (Saban Deflection).

Following rumors beginning in early November of 2013 (LINK ) that Texas is the only job in Saban's black little heart, Saban came out swinging in his deflection.

Talking to the great Tom Rinaldi, ""Well I don't know where these reports come from," Saban said with a smile. "I've sort of addressed the situation before. I'm totally committed to the University of Alabama, looking forward to the game we have this week and all my focus has been on LSU and what our team needs to do to play their best."
(Note: Alabama beat LSU 38-17, in the most lopsided victory of the series since the 2011 BCS National Championship game that was won 21-0).

The pants of the family also chimed in during an article in the WSJ:

"Some reports said Terry Saban had been house hunting in Austin. Asked if the report was accurate, Terry Saban called them "rumors with absolutely no foundation."

"We're staying," she said. "We're not going anywhere."

TSD - Terry Saban Deflection. She also said something about being unappreciated.

The man keeps getting offers (ridiculous ones at that) and he just keeps staying and deflecting. Deflect on Saban, deflect on!
