Sister in law asked me about a pocket knife for my brother in law. Something nice, preferably name brand, if there's such a thing.

Figured this was the first place to try.

Either a Case or Victorinox Swiss Army Knife would probably be good if you're looking for something with two blades.

I think that's a good question.

I asked her the same thing.

She doesn't know, just something he's said before, and it's a Christmas gift, so can't ask him.

That Case looks good.

I'm going to forward that one to her.

Keep em coming if you know of any else.

Thanks

Yeah the case knives are decent. Blade material is soft so you wanna lick the sticks a few times a night when you use it.

Is that a brand, or are you asking if my BIL is older?

He's 36, I think.

It is a brand that my uncle and grandpa have used for a long time. Personally, I prefer a knife with a pocket clip, but to each his own

Eta: Just saw the new ones are made in China, but there are a ton of mint old US made ones on eBay for pretty cheap. My uncle and grandpa swear by them for some reason

I don't think it matters.

not sure if serious

It kind of depends on what he does and wears on a daily basis. There are some really solid knives that can be had for under $200. The nicer, hand-made, more polished ones are gonna be more expensive. Don't really want to be prying stuff open with a show piece

Yeah I can link you to some really nice custom knives but they are gonna be at least $200 and it would be nice to know more about him and how he dresses whenever he would be carrying the knife.

I'd rather have a trapper;

or a Dr's knife,

if I carried a two bladed knife...

Handles and blade steel increase the value and price of pocket knives.

Smoky mountain knife works has a good on line catalog.

Like others have said, it's hard to beat the Case Trappers for quality and price. I love mine.
