Anyone get a chance to try this yet? Read about it on B's blog and sounds like the most interesting thing Abita has done in awhile. The fact they used PVW barrels and not Benchmark is astonishing in itself.

If I'm not mistaken, it's not even out yet, and maybe not even brewed.

Eta: not kegged. I believe it's still aging.

The distributor delivered kegs to Pelican House and Bulldog yesterday. Chimes and Chimes East will get their kegs tomorrow. Not sure if it's been tapped anywhere though. One would hope, but I guess it depends on whether there's room on the draft line.

Definitely want to check it out... hopefully another good select from Abita. At least they do those right. Usually.

Interesting. I heard about it about a month ago and thought they just brewed it then. Which would put them still aging now.

Guess I'll check it out this weekend when I'm floating through the areas.

Their coffee milk stout was descent. Wish they would bottle it also.

Avenue Pub says they will be tapping it this week. I imagine the Nola Bulldogs will as well.

They probably make enough money off of their normal lineup.

I'm sure they do

still doesn't make any sense why they wouldn't bottle some of the more popular ones

they don't have to be year round or even annual releases, just do them as one-offs, like almost every other respectable brewery does

I was just at Elio's looking for a four pack of BCS and they tried selling me a keg of this Abita Stout. Sounds cool but they are only selling pony kegs for $130. I will be seeking it out at bar.

Sounds like a deal to me. $3.25 for a pint. Would be awesome for a kegerator at home.

Damn. Read on twitter some was still available. The keg deal sounds like a good price though, just don't wanna commit to a beer I may or may not like.
