Serious question. I have vacation I want to burn and I don't mind getting wet in the yak. But will fish bite? Might be a stupid question.

As long as it's not pouring you'll be alright. Fish don't mind getting a little wet, but they don't want to get soaked. Good luck

Not sure, but I can tell you that I've been fishing and not doing worth a crap, then have them turn on as a lil shower starts.

If you're talking about bass, rain won't negatively affect the bite. Post front conditions is a different story.

the fish are already wet, so they typically don't care.

Seriously though, I have both caught and nto caught in the rain. I don't think rain itself makes a difference so much as whatever else is going on weather wise, such as a drop or rise in pressure, winds, etc.

One of my favorite trips ever was on New Years eve or the day before it a few years back. I guess we all forgot to check the weather. Pulled into the Reggio launch to the sun rise behind black clouds and some distant lightening. Waited for the lightening to stop, which it did, and we headed out. Fished in a light rain all day and caught a 3 man limit of specs.

I was thinking salt water off of Highway 1 or something. I know that water clarity has a big part in the bite, so wasn't sure if the rain did anything like that. I've never fished in the rain

I rarely have a bad fishing trip in the rain. The only down side is, I end up having to do it alone.

Use caution, I've gotten wet before doing this. But, you can catch fish, too. Fish at your on risk.

Ive ducked in a many floating camps to avoid getting a wet arse out there. They also make great platforms for taking a dump

I'm desperate to go fishing this weekend but the weather looks terrible. Friday is the best day, for sure, but Saturday morning, cold and wet, may not be too bad either.

Actually, Sunday me be the better day over the weekend. Warming again after Saturday and another change for Monday. If fishing in the rain, Sunday may be the choice.

I love weekends in Feb/Mar when the Saturday forecast calls for thunderstorms. I get the best places at Saline all to my self. My bobber, it goes down.

I've always did well right before and during light showers. I heard its because the barometric pressure drops slightly triggering a bite.
