With the news about Mett, do you now look favorably towards the Outback Bowl?

Foremost I'd love to get our fourth consecutive 10 win season. I am not saying we can't beat Baylor/OSU/UT, but if we manage to get into a shootout I am obviously not as confident in our chances without our seasoned vet in Mett (not saying we couldn't win). We could also get some much needed revenge against Iowa, or beat a traditional power in Nebraska. However, the location is unfavorable.

On the other hand, the Cotton Bowl presents a bigger challenge for Jennings in arguably the most impressive setting in football (Jerryworld) and his experience there would prove to be more invaluable. Also, there is a 100% chance i could make that game.

thoughts? Very excited about Jennings!

I still want Cotton. Especially if it's against Texas.

I agree, we could definitely beat Texas with jennings.

Question: would we play the winner or loser of the UT/Baylor game this weekend?

I think our chances of winning our bowl game took a fairly substantial hit when Mett went down. AJ may have all of the tools necessary to be a top notch QB in the future, but he is young and untested in a complete game scenario. One good drive against a bad Arkansas team does not guarantee that he's ready for prime time just yet.

I live in West Palm and some of my OT baller LSU friends live in Tampa. We went to the shite hole Cap One bowl vs. Iowa and PSU. Now it's time to party hard and win in Tampa. :bartscott

I'm not scared of anyone. Especially not UT, OSU or Baylor.

Which is exactly why I started the thread. Would you rather us getting revenge against Iowa/beat NU or possibly losing a shootout to Baylor/OSU/UT? I am a crossroads here. Two Cotton Bowl trophies would also look a lot nicer than one CB trophy and an Outback trophy.

I know it kind of comes off as a loser mentality, but I'd love another 10 win season and either way you slice it, Jennings will be getting invaluable experience.

TBH I'd rather the B1G opponent in the Outback. 10 wins is important to me and Texas is the only Big12 opponent I'd want to see. I don't care about the prestige of the Cotton.

I'd love to take on Baylor.. Even with Jennings..
Apparently you guys still believe this defense is the worst of all time..
Yeah we gave up more points than we are used to, but not in HUGE amounts - especially to some of the "offensively spectacular" teams. (A&M.. Auburn)
We gave up chunks to Georgia.. but I think that that healthy Georgia team would've won the East - no problem.
Bama physically beat us down.. Baylor or Okie State wouldn't be able to do that.
We could just go to the "one dimensional" game that has gotten us to 3 previous 10 win seasons and pound with Hill and McGee..
I'd take us against OSU, Baylor, and Okie st.
Texas.. umm.. yeah..
just be glad we won't draw Oregon or FSU (I think)
Very excited about Jennings as well! Want Cotton bowl!!! win or lose.

AJ is ready he has been there almost as long as CC he was a EE. So he will be coached up to play the whole football game. In addition, now defenses has to worry about the pass threat and the dual running threat with AJ and the backs. I have faith in him to get the job done.

I still lack confidence in the defense. Ark moved the ball well. Every team but aTm moved the ball. Passing and throwing. Maybe the D wasn't as bad as it seemed sometimes, but it certainly wasnt solid.

No. LSU will win any bowl game and win it going away. You're forgetting something. The bowl opponent will not have any film on Jennings. Expect a big game from him and a big LSU win.

The BCS said today we are still under consideration for a BCS Bowl fwiw lol.

Maybe if Auburn makes it to the Natl Title game, the Sugar Bowl will screw Bama and take LSU instead
