Yet another snake ID thread: Thanksgiving "Edit"ion!

Yes, crappy pic is crappy.
This guy was swimming in water on Thanksgiving Day. Really cold that day so maybe the water flooded out his hole?
Any ID?
Edit to add: He was floating on the water but when I tried to take his pic he tried to swim under but never could do it. He was about a 12" to 18" long.

Naw, I tried to pick him up with a stick and throw him up out of the water but he kept trying to get away. So, I let him float in the cold water.
