I know a lot of people there that are Bama fans, one of my very good friends is and he was born and raised in LA, simply because the way Saban made those towns important while he was the coach at LSU. A lot of them feel loyalty to him that they don't toward Miles, mainly because even after Saban got to Bama he made Northeast LA a top priority. He was always up there when he was the coach at LSU and is there just as much now that he is at Bama. Miles, simply put, has not put the same emphasis on Monroe/West Monroe that Saban has/does. And until that changes, Bama will continue to have success there.

We got outworked. Simple as that. Saban worked the area and it the corner of the state where distance to the schools is not a pro or con to one or the other. Its all about how well you can sell your program.

Bingo... he did the same thing while he was at LSU by pulling talent from Alabama in the Mobile area.

So does Miles just not make appearances there, or what? Like what specifically did Saban do that Miles hasn't?

Read the OP, Saban made relationships with the coaches there, lets them coach at his camps to make an extra nickel etc. Already mentioned but we have been out worked there plain and simple.

The first thing to accomplish as part of a new sales process is to understand why someone will buy. Saban figured out early on that Cameron Sims was a key for the other two guys (CRob and Hootie)and made him a priority from the beginning. And he never took his foot off the pedal.

I do not think that there is any question that the LSU staff's primary focus is on the New Orleans area, and understandibly so. There was a time when we were losing those kids. Close proximity, largest population, and great talent.

Then explain to me why we are pulling kids out of Florida & Texas that are top players?

Bottom line is Bama is the flavor of the month and they have a coach that used to be at LSU.

The list is very short of successful La players at Bama and LSU will be just fine with the kids that ARE coming. You can't get them all.

Explain to me why Miles waited until the final hour to recruit Dak Prescott? It was like he didn't think he was good enough until everybody else in the country offered him. He goes to Haughton at the last minute to try and convince him to come to BR, but it was too little too late. Mullen was on him for the better part of 3 years.

Like I said earlier. Saban has made Monroe/West Monroe a top priority. Miles hasn't.

Honestly, you would always see an LSU coach on the sidelines of a decent high school game when Saban was at LSU. You don't see that nearly as much anymore.

Seriously guys they are paying kids big money thou the Alabama Alumini Association of Monroe or Shreveport LINK

whatever it is called. Everybody in Bama knows it and laughs about it. That is a load of crap you are being feed for cover.

You need to find out more about Scotty Amos, Chris Walls, etc.

I hope Sims is saving his pennies cause it's a good possibility he'll be asked to greyshirt.
