I think Destrehan or Parkway are the teams to beat and would still be if the select schools were still in 5A.

Acadiana will roll both those teams.

I don't know why these two don't schedule each other regularly. I think there would be some great games. JT prob. does not want to lose any "future" recruits.

the consensus is that rummel is scared more than anything...

I honestly think that Curtis would own that series....as much as i hate to say it. Rummel, up until last year, always struck me as a team that would never live up to its potential. Much like Catholic and Central in BR.

Curtis would prob win 60% of the time but honestly in a given year, the talent gap isn't that wide.

Curtis benefits a lot from the hype machine. Not that they don't have great players.

i wonder if anyone has Roth vs. J.T. debates... Roth does have one more title in the highest classification than Curtis

it's the best rivalry that doesn't play in Louisiana

I know river ridge used to call several schools regularly trying to play...

shaw had more talent just about everytime they played.. and had SIGNIFICANTLY more talent in 97... and... JC owned the series...

curtis benefits more from execution and depth than they do from hype

considering in the last 30 years the catholic league as a whole has TWO wins vs curtis.... that is laughable...

I think some bad blood brewed that last time they played in jamboree..

Hype in what is a mythical matchup

They aren't over hyped as a team.

I consider Rummel one of the better 5a schools, but imagine them in lower classes not having to worry about the true great teams in our state over the years.

Playing with talent that can beat 6-7A teams from other states. On a 2A enrollment.

Im not familiar with a shaw Curtis series. I saw them play that year in the hap glaudi classic. How many times have they played?

2002 JC 38-7, 2001 JC 14-7, 1998 jc 31-28, 97 shaw 28-18, 96 jc 13-3, 95 JC 14-7, 92 JC 30-27 and 91 JC 41-0.

In many of those years shaw had deep playoff runs..

Exactly. I was getting at the fact that Curtis is a machine when it comes to execution. I think they would probably win at least 75% of the games.

my question... who would win 5A if there wasn't a split? i'd say parkway but rummel would have an argument too

Acadiana already beat Rummel pretty comfortably this year. Just sayin'.

He was back last week and #34 still played a lot of the game, not to mention the "starting QB" was 3/8 with two picks.

Why would Curtis be scared to schedule Rummel but not St Aug, Karr, and two national programs in the span of five weeks?

A loss to Aug and Karr won't steer kids away from Curtis to those schools. A loss to Rummel may send all those solid white athletes to Metairie instead of River Ridge.

You don't think Curtis competes with these other Nola schools for kids? I don't know who JT has to schedule to get some of yall to realize he isn't scared to play anyone. Hell chopique already said a Rummel admin admitted to not wanting to schedule Curtis.

I would have to look at the rosters, but Curtis seems to recruit most of his kids from the river parishes and Jefferson. The same area where Rummel thrives.

Nah, I've seen Destrehan play this year on TV and they are very legit. Acadiana will have to play its best game to keep it close and not turn it over. The good thing is that Acadiana has played Neville, Rummel and Barbe(twice) this year so they are pretty tested. Destrehan hasn't really played anyone worth a sh*t but they are still a great team. Should be a good game.
