Commish of a league with 4 teams at 7-6, only one gets the playoff spot.

I am arguing it goes to most points, because you can't use head to head. Guy in my league saying head to head should be used, and if player A loses to players B,C, and D, that player A is eliminated from it first, then use head to head between B,C, and D.

Most points - I don't even look at head to head in my league. You tie records, we go to points

A. It should already be determined. What service do you use?

B. Most points should be the standard.

If its just a 2 person tie, it should be head to head. If there are 3 or more tied with same record, it goes to points.

Its espn. The tiebreaker i picked in the rules before the season is playoff seeding to be picked based on head to head, then points

Sooo you just answered your own question. IMO it should be points, but you can't change the rules if they have been that way all season.

Use the NFL criteria for tiebreakers for teams across multiple divisions for 3 or more clubs.

1. Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
2. Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in conference games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.
12. Coin toss

You don't have to decide anything. ESPN will award playoff spots based on how you set it up. It will work out how it's supposed to work out.

Should be points though so make sure you set that up next year.

I couldn't disagree more. Total points shows who the better team throughout the season was, not one game.

Head to head is fun during the season because you get to talk shite to your friends, etc. But it shouldn't be the tie breaker.
