I've always thought this was one of the more underrated jobs out there. With the new elite facilities what are we looking at in terms of tier of candidates?

#1 Jim Mora. Hope he is offered, and takes his dream job. He's a good coach, the bRuins don't deserve him.

Yes. Mora still lives in the Seattle area and his kids still go to school here. There's rumors that he's in Seattle right now actually (and some rumors that he's interviewing for the job).
It sounds like the top 2 guys right now are Jim Mora and Chris Petersen.

Where do you think they would go after that? Mora seems like a decent possibility but Petersen sounds like a longshot.

The two additional names I've seen thrown around are Pinkel and Nussmeier. I was surprised about Petersen, but a guy that runs the Boise St. Scout site stopped by the UW site and it sounds like a very legit possibility if UW comes calling.

Perhaps he's getting tired of Boise finally. UW would seem to check all the other boxes for him though. Seems like he wants be on the west coast and in a big city with top notch healthcare for his son.
Pinkel would be a huge get (coached there under Don James I think?) but I would think he's close to retirement.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with all of that. Just seems weird that it's a possibility considering what jobs that he's turned down. I would call BS on it if it didn't come from within Boise State. They've always laughed at people claiming that they are going to steal Petersen away and this time it's completely flipped.

Yeah, he was here for like 11 years under Don James. He is a little old though, so not sure if he would even be up for switching jobs.

Same guy just came in with an update that sounds like a no go for Petersen to UW. I was surprised hearing that it was a good possibility, but not surprised with this news.

Yeah I've always heard that he is firmly embedded in Boise due to his son. Can't blame him one bit. Great job security, gets to make some noise there and his family is taken care of.

Petersen never wanted to be a HC, had to be talked into it in the first place, only agreed because his family didn't want to leave Boise. Hates dealing with the media and boosters, has said the only thing he really wants to do is work with the kids helping them get better.
There was a better chance of him becoming OC at UC Davis then HC at a place like USC, not kidding.
