This Butler team plays great as a team. They pushed OKie State to the wire earlier this week.

I think once we clean up some turnovers, and this team learns to play together we will be pretty hard to handle.

I concur. It's become typical under Jones that our team never gives up in a game. They fought a lot of adversity in this game and kept playing. I can't wait to see this team once they gel.

Like the win but I'm in the camp of not "marquee". I do agree if they work on defending the perimeter, get better at offensive rebounding, etc., no reason we can't win 18 - 20 games & get an at-large 7 to 10 seed & go dancing.

No, its not a top 25 victory, but it is a win over a known tourney team that may help get some local fan interest and some butts in seats for support. And yes, it will help come tourney time.

We can quibble about the word marquee, but the importance of this win for us to make the big dance IMHO cannot be overstated. It was huge.

Huge....Of course they'll have to hold up their end of the bargain, but I think they will.

St. Joe winning their next two after losing to us didn't hurt a thing.

This ^
I know most quit following basketball a long time ago but this win is big come selection Sunday. They will look at what teams have signature and non conference wins. Butler very well could be a tourney team and at the least they are very good for the RPI. This win was important. Now we go into the long break with some momentum. Johnny jones teams always fight until the end

We have so much ability.

We shoot ourselves in the foot every time. Turnovers and free throw shooting have got to improve. we protected the ball today, but could not rebound worth a damn. I believe this game was an anomaly, but if we protect the ball against memphis, we probably win by 5 to 10 points.

Blockout practice at 6 a.m. tomorrow. Damn near cost us the game.

The U showed several instances of our guys standing around while Butler came running in for rebounds.

No excuse for us to get outrebounded by Butler much less get outrebounded by double digits.

in no particular order. Blocking out needs to be addressed, free throw shooting, and turnovers. Other than that I'm very impressed! Mickey reminds me of a raw Tyrus Thomas.
