He said that IF Auburn wins next week, he thinks that the computers will put Auburn at number one, meaning that it would only take some voters putting Auburn at 2 for them to be IN the NCG, even with an OSU win.

Discuss.

btw his BCS projection RIGHT NOW

1. FSU
2. OSU
3. Aubbie
4. Bama
5. Mizzou

oh and he said Bama has no chance unless FSU and OSU both lose cya gumps

There will be voters that will vote Auburn low just to keep them from jumping undefeated teams.

Voters finally will have the chance to keep SEC out of the title game(barring FSU or OSU choking next week), they will vote Auburn lower.

I can see it now. Ohio State loses to Michigan State next week, Mizzou beats Aubie. Bama jumps to 2 and backs its way into the championship despite Mizzou being SEC champion and having its loss to another top 10 team.

Interesting if the voters would treat 1-loss SEC champ Mizzou differently than 1-loss SEC Champ Auburn vs. tOSU.

Yeah I don't see Florida St. slipping up. Ohio St. on the other hand could lose (considering their performance today).

There would be a full boXerrumble meltdown on the MSB if this happened.

Something I haven't seen mentioned is that Alabama may be ahead of Ohio State in some computers with an Auburn win, widening the gap even more between OSU/Auburn in the computers.

Yep. If Florida State and Ohio State both win, Auburn isn't climbing past number three in the human polls so that computer differential would have to be on an unheard level of massive to bridge the gap.

Put Alabama in the Title Game. Like it matters. Florida State will roll anyone.

I think you underestimate the voters, the same ones that a put two SEC teams in a rematch title game over a really good 1 loss Oklahoma St team. The BCS calculates the points you get for the polls are based on poll points, not rankings. Many even if Ohio State is number two in both polls, the vote totals could be close enough that the computers end up deciding. This is a very real possibility, arguing that it is not is just uninformed, it is math.

Yeah but the math doesn't hold up. If Ohio State is more or less uniformly given the #2 slot and Auburn the #3 slot (and chances are that will be the case), the computer rankings simply can't catch up unless the differential is massive. And right now it isn't.

Like you said, it's math.
