No, this is the new LHSAA. Sneeze or fart, get a state title trophy. It's amazing.

This week was the quarters for the public (non-select) and Division IV of the private (select) brackets. For Divisions I, II and III of the selects it's the semis.

Thanks for the calrification.

I was thinking only division 1 had a bye week in week 4 of the playoffs.

I may go check out East Jeff and Neville next weekend.

Game played out different than I expected. Parkview easily moved the ball in first matchup, but UHS defense showed up last night. On to the dome for Curtis matchup, Ain't gonna be easy, but it shouldn't be.

I waited until after the game was over, but for those complaining about the Lafayette based officiating crew in other threads, the bunch last night were some bad. The side judge that awarded PBS a Brossette fumble that clearly wasn't, overruling the rest of the crew, also took out our DB on the long TD completion, injuring his in the process. Will confirm when the film is posted, but that came from the player himself. And my son was dragged down repeatedly coming off the edge as he was about to clock the QB from the blindside, at least one when the head ref was <10 yards away. They were absolutely horrible.

They really did. It's kind of lost when the offense racks up more than 600 yards, but our boys (literally ) played their behinds off to limit their offense to the one long pass and 2 short field drives.

St aug rummel got the good crew,

On that fumble there was no whistle ref should not have taken ball from recovering player. Taking that ball was a 14 point swing. Linemen on both side could have had equal holding calls all game.

U high was better in both games. Down the road is a whole different creature. Especially from a depth standpoint .

What JC to evangel and how they did it is pretty compelling.

One huge change in Curtis in recent years is in the past if u watched them on film, u would say team x would have 5-7 players that could play their same position at Curtis.

Talking w someone after the game last night interesting question was thrown out, how many kids would start in their same position for Curtis?

LC and icansee. Both your boys played well

it wasn't even close to a fumble. So no, not a 14 point swing.

agree

Disagree. 8 was blowing by the OT on every pass play and it looked like the OT was water skiing behind him, finally got a call late once the game had been decided.

I can think of 5-7

That fumble was a big play in the game. However, the HL (not the SJ) immediately dropped his bean bag and 6 of the officials mirrored the PBS player with the ball. One official took the ball from that player when he stood with the ball. Had he let the play go, I think eventually PBS player would have listened to the screaming sideline and stands and probably scored a TD. UH caught a break there.

The long TD was a TE or Wing back straight up the seam. There is no way the DB hit that same HL, or any of the wing officials for that matter, unless he was running in white on the sideline. He may have hit the umpire if he hit anyone.

I agree with choupique, holding calls were pretty equal.

UH was clearly the better team. I was very impressed with the balance UH has.

well, I guess if you consider a running back being tackled and falling forward landing on the ball and it being ruled a fumble "catching a break" then we caught a break. Im not sure exactly how this play could be considered a 14 point swing as Parkview got the ball. Sure if he had run he could have scored, but aren't TDs 7 points.

On the long pass for PBS touchdown, the safty had hurt his knee the offensive series before when he caught a pass on the sideline. He bit toward line of scrimmage and when he tried to turn and run with the reciever, he couldn't. I think he would have been behind receiver anyway.

"Catching a break" in reference to a live ball being stopped. It was just a likely TD had the kid realized it was live. I have no idea if it was a fumble or not, was way too far away to see that. I agree, more like a 7 point loss. Probably wouldn't have mattered. UH was on a roll on both sides of the ball last night.
