Was pancaked so many times yesterday he could have been on the menu at I Hop. 4 offsides penalties! What happened to this young man? 0 tackles 1 assist.

The os on 4fh down was a nail in the LSU coffin, very disappointed in his play.

Imo he looks more like a 3/4 DE than a DT. I think the big issue was that he was a full grown man at 18 yrs old. I really dont think he has matured that much physically since his Fr yr.

Yes, I'm thinking he's more of a DE but not sure about the speed required...

regressed - the Rant's favorite term. He hasn't regressed, he's just not a rotation guy playing beside NFL talent anymore. Some guys look great in those spots in their first couple of years but don't evolve to that every-down force.

He needs to be stripped of the Freak moniker until further notice.

As is the case with a lot of 5 star guys who dont pan out, they are men agaiinst boys in HS, having peaked early. Thata the trick in ebaluating talent, to estimate how much growth potential is there

I saw a lack of effort on some plays by him. I don't like writing this but it is what I saw. AJ, if you're reading this, sorry man, you gotta go 100% on every play.

I can understand his compulsion to get a jump on snaps. If he doesn't get a head start he gets overwhelmed. Yesterday wasn't the first time he's had a multiple offsides game. I love his desire but if he goes pro it won't be such a great loss.

Doesn't matter. Whether you are a 3-4 DE or a 4-3 DT, you have to beat a double team, and you must win if they leave you one on one. Early in the year teams double teamed him and rendered him ineffective. Not long after teams like furman, Alabama, etc. put one man on him and handled him. its not the position he plays, its his technique and how he plays. he is not near ready for the pro level and would be making a mistake if he left early.

I don't understand how anyone can project he or Ego going in the first three rounds. Having seen so many great DTs come through LSU in the last 10 years, they are second day picks at best. Nevis was a 3rd rounder, Lavalais was a 5th rounder. Even Kyle Williams wasn't a 1st round pick. The only guy I can compare them too is Al Woods who like AJ looked like an all American but wasn't very productive. He was a 4th round pick purely on a good combine. Why would they go if they aren't first day picks?? I just don't get it.

And while we're on the subject there apparently was ZERO discipline applied by Les Miles to Johnson despite his frequent frickups. The constant false starts, offsides, bad timeouts, etc. are symptomatic of a head coach that needs to stop chewing grass and start chewing arse.

I'm sure a man who makes millions of dollar a year coaching football will heed the advice of a mouth breather who dresses in a dog costume
