For the NFL? I'm sure they have enough info to set it up by position and time in the league. Robert Smith and Barry did it right IMO

What about QBs, who are playing well up to about 40 these days. What about guys like Priest Holmes who have limited carries early in their careers then bust out at ~27?

It would never happen, but it's actually an interesting idea... Force people to retire when they are 30 or something, it would certainly help cut down on the lifelong injuries and mental problems

Or instead of an age limit how about a year limit? You can only play for X amount of seasons. Again it would never happen but it's an interesting thought

Or have players have yearly evaluations by a neurologist when they reach the age of 27.

the Department of Labor would have a field day with that. good luck, and better have a shite load of attorneys on the payroll.

Or some kind of mileage/injury meter.

But Goofdell would abuse it to no end. Brees and Manning would be forced to retire while Brady would be allowed to stay on the field as long as he wants.

Yeah once it got subjective shite would go bad. People can be free to do as they please but the league could say they are not fit to play. You're not as free as you think.

Just saying if test X is accepted by both sides and if you fail it you are at serious risk for Y then teams would be accepting the liability.

All I'm saying is that Barry Sanders is likely loving life and Emmit isn't.

Yea, and sanders and smith both knew and made decisions themselves and both live with the consequences. Smith knew what the consequences were gravy training to the rushing record.
