Yea that movie sucked. I don't get the praise.

I don't usually read much fiction, or read at all for that matter outside of war books, and this was the first time I truly understood people getting mad that a movie was nowhere near as good as the book.
Not only was this not as good as the book it was nothing like the book whatsoever outside of the name, Israel being mentioned, and a few words shared here and there. I mean, shite, even not considering the book the movie was god awful.
Gah, now I'm all mad.
ETA: frick that movie. needed to be said again. just utter trash.

Nailed it outside highlighting that ,even though it's implied, the plot is so horribly weak that when you hear the terrible resolution/conclusion you're not mad. Instead you're just glad it's over.
After the plane crash scene I was already thinking "frick it, why not at this point"

Can't stand Max Brooks and his cult of personality,so I'm rather happy that his novel was horribly fricked up beyond recognition.

The sad part is they wrote and actually filmed something that is a set up a lot closer to the book (diverging at Israel).
They felt it was too bleak and depressing and redid it.
It's the fricking zombie APOCALYPSE morons!

I did not read the book, so I'm not in love with it.
I'm also not in love with the movie, but I liked it.
Not sure why people expect "Citizen Kane," from a movie about zombies. Aren't most zombie movies about as smart and well-constructed as, well, zombie movies?

Never been a big fan of anything zombie related but WWZ was awesome. Based off a book that was a series of interviews from WW2 (forgot the name) and it basically discusses the geopolitical ramifications, the military strategies, basically anything and everything the world would go through during such an event. Pretty cool cause he gives a bunch of different perspectives from different cultures and uses history in all of them.
I feel like someone can do a lot better than I did describing it, I'm a dolt, but the book really is more than a OMG ZOMBEEZ, SHOOT! kinda book. Like I said generally I hate zombie movies/books, it's dull, and the movie was the most vanilla/lazy of them all.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, but they should not have called it WWZ.

That's what you get for watching that trash instead of Hunger Games.

I used the same strategy as the Borne books/movies, I treated them as completely different, and enjoyed both.

I really enjoyed it, the people that hate it usally are the ones that can't seem to separate it from the book.

Not only did have nothing to do with the book, it straight sucked as a stand alone. It literally had the same pacing as a console FPS on rails. Exposition-action sequence-cutscene narrative-action sequence-cut scene etc.
Big steaming pile of shite.

All of that. Even if I hadn't read the book I'd have thought it sucked. Fast and Furious movies have more depth than that garbage. If I wanted to just watch sweet action scenes without any plot worth a damn I'd just watch Pacific Rim again

I rule out anything zombie relates on general principle
