Presumably if anyone is aware of this upcoming product it would be the people here.

Price tag would drive me away. Is this more geared toward PC gamers?

Outlandish price tag! Would Never pay
PS4 is KING!!!!!!!!!

It's a Steambox -- AKA, a PC built in a small footprint, meant for the living room and a controller, with the functionality of a full-blown HTPC and gaming PC. So, in other words, this is a gaming PC, not a new console. Many companies are making them.
EDIT: I see it will use an R9-270.

You will notice, there is no markup for a gimmicky camera attachment.

Bought one last year and am more than happy with it.

You over paid for a shitty computer then. They skimp on the power supply and motherboard specifically.

Not necessarily crappy, just use cheap parts along with some decent ones and charge absurd prices for them.

Funny because the reason I payed them to build it was because when I priced all the parts to build it myself, as I have the last 3 boxes I've had, it was cheaper to have them build it themselves. And that was pricing apples to apples. Asus motherboard and don't remember wheat power supply it was but it got a good rating on several sites online when I checked.

I've never, ever seen a deal so great from that brand that it beat building yourself, even at typical retail prices.

This. I built my first PC 3 years ago and I will never go back. Went it totally blind and it only took me about 5 hours, including troubleshooting when I fricked up a couple of connections by accident. Rebuilt it a few months ago and I had taken out the old stuff and put in the new in a little over an hour. Time and money well spent

Not everyone wants to build, given that ibuypowr pc's are not a bad option. I bought one 3 years ago before I started building and only upgraded the video card and ram over time. Game it to my nephew a year ago and he is still gaming at high or ultra settings three years later.

Not to mention is not stronger than the current consoles (it's CPU will be better though). It's not a bad deal for what you get, but I don't know why someone who want to get into Steam gaming would choose this over a rig that offers a lot more value.

Just because I've never seen a tranny dick doesn't mean they done exist either, it just means I have purposefully not looked at them.
I saved about $200 having them build the PC and saved myself the work of doing it. Not to mention got a nice easy all inclusive warranty that I never had to use but was nice to have anyway.

Well that's great and all, but considering the number of computers I build monthly I think it's safe to say I'm a tad more educated on the matter than you.
If you indeed "saved" $200 I'd say you either can't source for shite or you didn't do an apples for apples comparison.

Hopefully you were building a water cooling system from scratch.

Sorry, didn't realize I was dealing with a PC badass here.
And I use newegg/amazon for most stuff, like 99% of everyone else. So if you know of some better sources, great for you, the rest of us are using the retail places we know about.
And I've been building computers, although not monthly, since 486's when I was 15 so I'm savvy enough to know when I'm comparing apples to apples.
