99%. They won't throw in the towel early enough to tank which means they need to win as many games this season as possible to keep the pick out of the top 10 and save Demps' job too. Monty would probably have to lose the team so much that they think Hanners/Ayers will do better. If any change happens it will most likely be after the season.

90% because sometimes shite happens. This team will be 8-8 after the next two games. Monty, for all the fictional crap this board throws on him, is a much better coach than you'd believe. If we fired him unceremoniously, you can believe there's a couple teams who would jump to hire him as a HC or Asst. or Whatever.

Also, if you hadn't noticed the recent trend in the NBA for coaching hires: very few teams are going for the high profile/known guys anymore. Everybody's promoting from within or stealing other team's assistants. There are 9 ROOKIE Head Coaches this season- Budenholzer, Shaw, Brown, Malone, Clifford, Stevens, Hornacek, Kidd, Joerger. A trend that the New Orleans organization kicked off back in 2009 with Monty!
Thus, IF we canned Monty I highly doubt we'd go after Karl. We'd probably go interim during the season, then steal whichever boss the Spurs have next to Pop these days.

Can you expand on the "fictional crap" you are talking about?

What has he done to prove he is a good coach?

Taking on Jefferson and Biedrins's contracts in exchange for future picks = tanking.

We're still chasing .500. If we're anywhere near .500 at the break, he'll make it through the year. I think the only way he gets canned is if we starts losing in streaks regularly or he starts to lose players publicly.

100% He won't be fired mid-season. Not like he's on pace to go .300 or something.
