Though there's some question as to whether it will be a direct sequel or something totally different. Rumor has it that Paramount really wanted to capitalize on the success of the Paranormal Activity franchise and produce a found-footage type movie.

The release date is set for March 13, 2015.

How about no. I'm a sucker for Jason movies but found footage sounds horrible.

the 2009 Platinum Dunes remake was pretty good so hopefully they bring back the same team for the sequel.

Also it's nice to see someone else reads BD

Yeah...if it's a found footage movie I will not be seeing this one at all. If it's a direct sequel to the '09 remake then I am down.

"Capitalize on the success" in this instance translates into "attempt to make a Friday the 13th movie for a fifth of the price and hope to get the usual returns".

I'm shocked.

Same thing I thought when I read the title.

But I enjoyed the remake from a few years ago. I'm not even sure how the hell they'd do a found-footage version of Ft13. That sounds horrible. Like someone said, if it's a regular sequel to the one from a few years ago, then I'm in.

Last time I had a deranged killer after me, the video camera was my main priority so it makes sense.

A found footage Jason movie might be fun.

Hitfix confirms it's:

a) Definitely shaky cam.
b) Another reboot.

Woof.

It's official then. I'm out. A concept like that sounds terrible.
