OB, I have been having issues this season getting my Boykin settled down during hunts. She isn't quite 2 yet, but constantly whines and is generally very unsettled during hunts. I am always hunting from a makeshift blind or just hiding on the shore, so she doesn't really have a "place" to be. I am looking into getting her a hunting kennel but in the meantime would appreciate some tips on getting her settled down and stop whining (she doesn't whine normally at home).

My dogs only 1 and hasn't been in a blind, but I work with her a bit to hope she one day can. I've been getting her to sit on a square of plywood. I'll have her do it while I'm working outside or something so she gets used to sitting still while there's stuff going on around her. I knew she was catching on when I took her to the camp and the other dogs were chasing each other around and she would just stay on her spot. It might not help with the whining, but it's helped her to stay still.

Spot train her, bring/buy a marsh stand even if it's not up, good luck with the whimpering. Try a bark collar and an e collar

The whining is going to be tuff to break. Most don't even know they're doing it. My hunting partner's dog whines pretty bad early in the hunt, but after he gets a few birds in his mouth he settles down. Other than being an irritant, I don't think his whining has ever cost us any birds.

My dog love to slowly scoot out from where we are hiding when we arent hunting in a actually blind. Its a pain in the arse but we are usually in water so cant use a hunting kennel and he likes to be able to see everywhere so its a pain.

Uh oh. I doubt you break that. Sucks too. Nothing more annoying that a whining dog.

Use a tie down and throw a dummy out a few times to wear it out a little. Also, hit with e-collar on low with a sit command.

Forgot to add if it's a heal left side only then that will mess with them. If it is make sure you hunt them from whatever side
