She might enjoy some good olive oils since she's Italian. I love getting different oils to try. There were some threads on oils not to long ago. I just ordered some smoked olive oil. Haven't tried them yet, though.

CO2 Wine Bottle Opener

It's like a celebration every time you pop a cork!

Seriously though- I got one for my wife last year and it's one of the coolest things in my kitchen. Hands down the best wine opener I've ever owned.

Be sure to send a couple of extra CO2 cartridges. Each one lasts a few months, but it really depends on how much wine you open.

This one has a built in foil cutter

Large kneading board.

Hooks on the front of your counter and has a backstop for flying flour. And it's reversable.

About $130. I love mine for pizza making.

ETA: Shop around. I just found one for $84.

I might get a Himalayan salt block for the lady friend. Anyone here have any experience with them? They seem very interesting, but how much use do you really get out of it?

Here's another idea if she likes to bake:

It's an oven insert that turns your oven into something like a brick oven. Makes wonderful pizza.

They don't make them anymore, but you can still find new ones on eBay.

I like that board for pizza, but I'd like it better for chopping. Good looking and great price for it.

Here's a link to the last thread I saw on olive oil.
