First deer hunt

Hey guys, looking for some advice here
Never been deer hunting (I know, I'm not a real man, my dad was just not a hunter). My gf's dad wants to take me in the next couple weeks up in southern Ark. Any advice on my first hunt? I really don't know the first thing about it

Yes, if you hear banjos, run. Or, either decide if you like her brothers and dad better than her.
Just tell the truth, ask serious questions. Most experienced hunters will help people new to the sport. We need as many license buyers as possible, especially these days..
Safety is most important.. That could be a deal braker, for me at least.

I dread the day I have to take a daughter's boyfriend on his first hunt. Does he like you? Serious question. I was in a duck blind with my now father in law (and brother in law) when I asked if I could marry his daughter. We killed some ducks then went to City Bar in Maurice to celebrate afterwards.
Don't try to be a hotshot. He'll see right through it. Make it known you are trying to learn and do right. Don't get too drunk. Help clean up. Ask what time you need to wake up, then set your alarm for an hour earlier. Make the coffee. Be nice to his dog. Be sweet to his wife, even if she's a beast. He'll know when you are full of shite.
