The wife works in the medical field and has to put a few hours in on thursday. With the loss of my mom in january thanksgiving will be rather different this year, she always did it right. The wife's parents are in BSL and will come in for the weekend. Anyways, just me and the lady on Thursday and we decided to go to Ruffinos since she will work most of the day. They are having the full menu, plus a thanksgiving dinner as well. What should I look at getting? Haven't been in Baton Rouge that long and it has literally been probably 6-7yrs since i've been to Ruffinos. Any must haves instead of going traditional thanksgiving?

Sorry for your loss, Herb.
There were a few threads recently with some pics and reviews. I think boss had one of them.

Bumped one for you.

I would rather have ruffinos than thanksgiving food.I like the tomato vodka pasta as a side.

First few times I went I got Italian and did not like them at all and swore off the restaurant, then I was convinced to go back and try other things, glad I did, I stick to Gino's and digullios for Itallian, but that is just me

They've had a lack of interest in Italian. They are more of a steak house now. When they took the antipasta off the menu, we decided to move on. In their defense, they couldn't keep the antipasta fresh because of the amounts of only-for-that-dish meats, cheeses, etc. Instead of serving a less than fresh or half arse dish, they took it off the menu. I was told that we could reserve in advance and make requests for items not on the current menu.

I believe most of their current management is from the other steak houses in town... Ruth Chris, Sullivans, etc. Ruffino's staff know what they are doing with steak, fish, and customer service. Italian... unfortunately, not so much anymore.
