Well that's the point. In pick up, they're crazy and don't care about real fouls.
They never, ever pass either and bitch the whole time

Agreed. There's a new futsal place in town that offers open pickup most nights a week. It was awesome at first because it was mainly guys from the league I play with now. It was intense and organized with actual futsal laws being followed but also laid back. Well as of late it has become the place for the poorer segment of immigrants to play who can't afford to play in organized leagues. Last time I went it was 9v9 on a futsal court with dudes doing cartwheels, not passing to anyone and only worried about doing tricks. Its a shame because it was a lot of fun before when they had a staff member organizing it but I left feeling ripped off that night ($10 to play). I won't go back because of that.

Being white pretty much precludes you from getting the ball. I never feel more discriminated against as a white guy than when I'm playing soccer hispanics and arabs.

Seriously, people in France were more accepting/trusting of me with a soccer ball.

Here in the US, even when I prove my skill, I'll make a run down the field to support a guy who instead of making the easy pass will go 1v5 and then not give a shite when he loses the ball.
