About Verne and Gary and their game calls...

Most of you don't understand that not everybody wants to hear the "ESPN" highly technical football language on every play or for every game. I have watched games with non-football savvy fans for years and CBS/Verne/Gary is the what they enjoy because it is NOT "highly technical football language."
They appeal to a larger audience than the "highly technical football language" network known as ESPN. And they get a much more sophisticated audience and therefore more exposure that benefits LSU in the long run.
I have watched college football for for many decades and I have really grown to love the way Verne and Gary announce the games. Their appreciation of the game and college towns and teams and the players is more refreshing that the "talking heads at" ESPN. They are not perfect but that is also refreshing and more enjoyable than the ESPN announcers.

Verne called a replay as a live play today, he's so fricking out of it he apparently just stares at the monitor and speaks when the pretty pictures move.

Well, I'll say this...
Gary Danielson is normally fair, and a solid announcer.
But Verne seems to have something against LSU. He never has the same excitement for the calls for LSU compared to the team playing against LSU.

I have no problem with Danielson. I think he is one of the better announcers when it comes to talking about the game and all that stuff. He seems to do his homework.
Lundquist on the other hand...he's just not good anymore. Throwing around superlatives and just making noises during plays, then chuckling at something Danielson just said, and seeming to be pretty biased for one team or the other.

They suck. Danielson said "that's. 30 yard penalty" when two 15 yard penalties were called against A&M on the same play.. Yep they aren't real technical.

Do these good ole commoners enjoy the constant bumbling, mistakes, and downright wrong shite those morons say? Since when in football history has a team been allowed to stack two 15 yd penalties for a 30 yd penalty? 
They're fricking awful and seriously detract from the enjoyment of watching any of their games -not just LSU. I can't stand them in any game they call.

I enjoy listening to Gary. He knows his stuff and tries to explain things in a way where you can learn something by looking at formations.
Verne, on the other hand, spews nonsense. I really wish he'd stick with calling golf or basketball games.
