Ok... So I definitely remember reading something about this recently on here, but could not find the thread. So excuse me if already discussed. I didn't want to copy the entire thing.

But in Short, Drew is in the middle of the pack for percentage of total passes that are 20+ yards, but is one of the most accurate and averages the most yards on attempts of 20+.

quote:

Deep passes are the most exciting play in televised football—the viewing audience can't see the situation downfield until the ball (and the camera) make it down there, so the play always feels, in that tiny moment before we catch up, like a sure touchdown or interception. It's well known that not every QB in the league has the ability (or proclivity) to throw a good deep ball, but we want to know: Who are best deeper passers in the NFL?

No he meant the kind of swallowing Lester Earl does.

So the conclusion to be had is:

Saints don't go deep as often as some other teams, but when the deep option is open, we take advantage of it more often than other teams.

Well, Drew also throws a lot more than some of the people ahead of him on that list. If the first chart was just the amount of deep throws attempted it would look different.

Brees and Rodgers are definitely the top 2 deep passers in the league with any significant experience.

Schuab may be up there in % and yards, but he rarely throws deep to anyone other than Johnson(and he rarely throws deep).
