They got manhandled by Stanford and if it wasn't for their miraculous last 5 minute comeback nobody would even still consider them. Sadly, they knew their fate before the season started......it never changes.....they have to go undefeated to be in. Especially in a year with multiple undefeated teams.

How can you even bring Bama into this? They have steamrolled the entire nation for almost 4 years straight. There really is no comparison and at this point, calling them out just looks childish.

Oh yeah and that awesome #5 team has lost to 2 unranked opponents.

Well many of the Big10 schools have the biggest alumni bases in the country so it isn't that big of a deal. There are lots of them who get the hell out of the shitty Midwest and live out here.

Oregons notable football history started like 5 years ago, and now the Rose Bowl isn't a big enough deal to them?

Hell I would love to see Miami in the Rose Bowl. These Ducks players are pitiful and sound like losers. Seriously they have been good for not even a decade and they act like the big dogs. They have never won a got damn thing. And once USC gets off the mat Oregon will be nothing but a all flash and no substance, one trick pony.

Between this and the "We Want Bama" shirts, it's glaringly obvious that they don't know how to handle success.

Those shirts...gahhh what a joke! How did they not know that would blow-up in their faces?

I don't blame them. Anything less than a National Championship means you failed and should feel bad.

I really dislike everything about Oregon. They are the school that really hasn't accomplished or won much at all. They are that little, flashy shite talker that got thoroughly put in their place in against a physical team. I mean, Stanford made your players cry. You were crying in the 4th quarter. CRYING What is this, Pop Warner league? Do you want orange slices, little debbies and juice boxes after the game? If Stanford did that to Oregon, just imagine what Alabama would have done. They would still be trying to remove their foot from Oregon's arse.

Whenever I think of Oregon, this always comes to mind. Oregon = white shirt guy. NSFW

To be fair 10 years is "forever" to an 18-20 year old, so Oregon has been good "forever".

Normally I'd chime in with the bashing but it is Friday so I feel charitable.

It hasn't even been that long. My parents took me to the 1995 Rose Bowl as a young kid and then it wasn't until 2010 that we were back. That 2009 season was hardly dominant. Between the 2001 Fiesta Bowl and 2010 Rose Bowl we were the definition of mediocre while USC dominated.

Huff, who had this quote, came in as a true freshman and went to the National Championship his first season, won the Rose Bowl and Fiesta the next two seasons and obviously was let down not getting it done this year but he needs to deal with it. For the fans, the Rose Bowl is very special and not taken for granted.

To be fair I can understand their point but on a smaller scale.

When the Gamecocks went to the Outback Bowl in the 2000, and subsequently in 2001, it was the greatest thing in the world to our fan base. We hadn't been to a bowl since 1995, hadn't been to a bowl worth a damn since the late 1980s Gator Bowls, and only had 1 bowl win at that time. We went down to Tampa in droves and beating Ohio St. in those games might as well have been beating them in the national title the way we reacted. Granted that first Outback Bowl we had come from a 1-21 stretch the previous two seasons but even if those weren't a big deal getting to the Outback Bowl was.

Now in 2008 and even last year in 2012 SC fans were very apathetic about it all. In 2012 yeah we were happy to get to 11 wins again and playing a big name like Michigan had it's draw but we didn't get to the SECCG and that's all that matters.

We've only been to the SECCG once and we got the doors blown off of us, but this is the 4th season in a row that if we don't get to the SECCG the season as a whole was a failure, though by historical standards it should already be considered a success.

Thanks, BCS.
And all the other playoff senerios. This is the result.

The simplest solution was to let the major bowls match 1 against 2, 3 against 4 etc. Something meaningful.
